I am very proud to present Ralph Hauwert as the new contributor to our project.
I have been following his amazing work since I heard him speak at the Spark conference in Amsterdam, back in 2005. When he volunteered his energy, enthusiasm and talent, I knew we were in for something special. But to be honest, I was not prepared for this.
He has undertaken the extremely challenging task of rewriting our render engine and take it to a level never seen before in Flash.
He is currently developing a dazzling array of state-of-the-art special effects that will take Papervision3D to a whole new dimension of graphics realism. And as if that wasn’t enough, his work will also boost the performance of the engine in many ways.
It is too early to understand the full implications of this development. But one thing is for sure, the web has taken a quantum leap into the future.
Please join me to thank Ralph for taking the time and effort to place his magic at our very fingertips.

Thank you Ralph!

I second CJ’s comment… This is quite closed development for an open source project. I mean, the project is far from being alpha, so what’s wrong with releasing the sources to a public not involved in the project’s development ?

The project is not far from being Alpha. In fact, it’s actually closer to being Beta.
The first public Beta will be available for public download as soon as it’s ready. Not before.
We believe that an early release would do more harm than good.
Thanks for your patience.

Good god! A quantum leap? How far is a quantum leap again? Oh yeah, 2.82 x 10^-15 m.
Sincerely, a huge step into the future of the internet.
