This is a really exciting build. I feel like the conference in NYC was just a few days too early though. All the new features were not entirely wrapped up, so I’m a little confused as to what elements of the example code is now legacy. Not much from the conference still compiles when you point to GreatWhite. Also, check org.papervision3d.view.BasicView–it seems that org.papervision3d.core.view.IView wasn’t imported. I don’t want to end on a downer, though–this is still amazing stuff.
December 5, 2007 at 3:31 pm |
Thanks, thanks for all community, and go ahead to PPV3D 2.0.
Ps.:
One doubt, how will stay the documentation? All Papervision3D documentation will it pass by a updating?
December 5, 2007 at 3:34 pm |
Thank you so much, John, for the update on your blog regarding the changes in v2–this is a big help. (http://www.rockonflash.com/blog/?p=92)

Why the hell this things must be so complicated!!??
Man, i cant find a single file called Papervision2.zip ou .rar or .whatever, just because its openSource, doesnt mean it has to be a huge mass! Honestly, im trying to learn PV3D but i cant find descent tutorials, i cant find support files, is everything a mess!
Why you dont have a page called Downloads, and there you just put the motherfuckin link to the PAPERVISION 1.0 ou 2.0 directly?? Why?? Why we have to dig around the web and this stupid blog to find these things?
Man,! SIMPLIFY! for christ sake, simplify!
Mess.. mess everywhere!
July 2, 2008 at 3:32 pm |
And what the hell is GreatWhite? It this a new name to PaperVision? Is that so? Well i dont know, cause I CANT find it anywhere! Mister Moderator, or mister bloger, please, this site is a huge mass, please fix it, create simple and direct pages, dont make us dig the motherfuckin google codes to find a simple download file, this is ridiculous! What the fuck is going on?? realy.. is that so hard to keep INFORMATION clear and direct? oh man.. im tired.. very tired of this Google Based sites..
July 2, 2008 at 8:35 pm |
@Ronaldo: Due to the frequency of changes, during the alpha phase of GreatWhite it can only be downloaded from the SVN.
July 20, 2008 at 5:17 pm |
Any dates out there for 2.0 beta and release?
July 23, 2008 at 10:54 pm |
You guys are doing great work with the new version of PV3D. I have been doing some experiments with it and I was wondering if it is possible to add lights and shading to a model that was imported as a collada when the DAE contains the material info? Or does the material need to be added in PV?
August 11, 2008 at 3:48 pm |
@Ronaldo…
you curse too much, and if you cant figure out how to use 2.0 and get it from the google svn site (as well as do some google searching) than I feel sorry for you and you should go do something else… stop bitching so much, and just be glad that someone else is making cool stuff that you can use. Noone has any obligation to make it simple for you, especially when you’re acting like they owe you to make it retard-proof

HY there !
I want to learn actionscript to improve my work on Flash, so I did this tutorial ( http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=68 ) that show how to make a 3D cube from 6 clips…
I understood most of the code but when i launch the animation i have this message ( 1172: La définition org.papervision3d:Papervision3D est introuvable…..)
When i started the tutorial i couldn’t charge the “papervision3d greatswhite 2.0″ on google code source (no more dismonible)
So i copy the code directly.
I’m sure it doesn’t work becauve i didn’t charge the papervision3d.
Does anybody could have a look to my code ?
