From the collaboration between Mono and Your Majesty comes this beautiful site to launch the super quick TurboChef oven.
The site consists of two parts, Explore and Cook. They’ve used Papervision3D in the Explore section. It features a 3D oven which dissasembles to form a carousel, from where to navigate between the different characteristics of the appliance. Very cool.

Wonderful art but very slow to load and not at all effective from a marketing point of view. The company is trying to sell ovens not interactive experiences. Sounds kind of harsh but clients want to consume as much about a product as they can on a website. Regardless of how nice the graphics are I just don’t think people are going to be impressed by a simulation of an oven. Simulations can be effective, but they have to be a good fit between the product and the simulation.

Well i think that you are right in your theory, but it seems that the simulation of the oven technology is what makes this oven faster than any other oven. It is the “proof in the pudding” so to speak.

I think the video approach combined with the interactive exploration / product info, works fantastically well. Cooking is an experience that has to be seen to be believed. A great use for a microsite since it’s for a brand with a single product-line.

Excellent site, and it links out to turbochef.com that has the traditional informational approach.

This amazing technology is unprecedented. ‘
Contrary to Peter’s opinion that the (incredible) website is not a good marketing tool, I have to say it confirms for me, the notion to buy this thing.
As Mario said, ‘seeing is believing’ and it’s made a believer out of me.
In addition, to have Charlie Trotter endorse your cooking product says it all. I heard that he has two TurboChef ovens in his home and that he especially loves it for reheating pizza.
I guess the only thing I would have added or changed is that I would have liked to see more “everyday” meals demonstrated; such as dinner rolls/bread, chicken breasts or thighs, burgers, the “toast” feature and more affordable meals, as not everyone can afford rack of lamb everyday.
In any case. I LOVE it!

I just wanted to say that’s a very interesting and therefore effective site. And that first comment is bogus.

I just wanted to say that’s a very interesting and therefore effective site. And that it’s a shame that the first comment here is such a downer. Come on, it’s a development site not a market research and analysis site.
