The new INDG site makes use of several innovative concepts and techniques, using a uncommon combination of 2D and 3D to create a smooth flow throughout the site that would not be possible without the use of realtime 3D.
It’s a really nice piece of work, full of details like the use of different shaders, the shadows and the subtle reflections.

Was this site made in Papervision3D?
Because under online experiences they claim they use “The Flash Engine developed in-house guarantees an optimum performance.”
Just wanna make sure people are giving credit where it’s deserved.

Their site submission is clear: Papervision3D 2.0 Beta

Our in-house Flash Engine is the engine we use in sites such as Base-X, Wenswonen and Miele Inspirience. It’s an engine which enables navigation through a 3D (pre)rendered environment using video sequences. The engine does all the preloading, bandwidth prediction and other tricks to get it running smooth under almost all circumstances.

The INDG site was however built with Papervision 2.0 Beta with some custom hacks here and there to allow some of the effects such as the horizon reflection. And some custom classes to do dynamic texture mapping on a scaling and resizing mesh.

Keep up the good work INDG! Nice examples Daniël, i really like the website of Base-X. That website is awesom… never seen anything like this!

thanks for the examples, Mr Haveman – I will be sure NOT to show these to my clients. Base-X will make a client drunk with ambition
.
You main portfolio is nice, but I continue to have doubts for Papervision3D without 3d acceleration. Sluggish, slow and annoying. Sometimes being on the cutting edge is not enough

Usability is really poor on the site. Watching a preloader for more than one minute is bad. Why can’t just use progressive download?? I wasn’t able to watch or see any content.

Oh my =/
It makes me very sad to see such great Projects and looking down on my Portfolio. How can I ever reach this standard…

Fantastic visuals and overall aesthetic. Though their AS3 code for the video preload seems to be broken in Chrome, as soon as the video window opens and throws up the preload percentage it immediately closes down again
I’ve had similar issues with AS3 variables myself so I feel the pain – though browser testing people…

Best thing they’ve did is Director work for home planning. That’s impressive and makes me wonder why Adobe is putting director so far away from the crowd. Respect for awesome work!
