PV3D Flash Component update

March 6, 2009

Hey all, this is just a quick note about the latest version of the Flash Component and it’s progress.

I apologize for being so silent on it for a while now.  I’d held back on releasing until we were released on 2.0, then CS4 came out and then, I lost track of time – so I apologize for that.

I’ll be updating the component and will release the GUI code as well.  I would anticipate being able to get this out within this month for sure, and hopefully sooner than later.

Thanks for your patience, I appreciate it,

John

Papervision3D Portfolios : Barcinski & Jean-Jean & Fat-Man Collective

September 16, 2008

2 very nice Papervision3D powered portfolio sites have just emerged.

Barcinski-JeanJean – From the makers of VectorVision, this highly entertaining and very well constructed site comes. 3D Glasses, VectorVision, Cloth Dynamics, Panorama Photography…it’s all there, it even sports a 3D version of pong for your loading pleasures. Well done guys! (make sure you take a look at the video panorama).

Fat Man Collective – They are Thinkers, Designers and Developers and it shows! This nicely designed portfolio sports some nice prerendered and realtime 3D, making it seamless eye candy. The integration between 2D and 3D stands out, as does the 3D modelling. Great work!

Training with John Grden postponed until Sept 27th

September 12, 2008

Sorry about that all, but the class has sold really well, so that’s encouraging!

I live roughly 30 miles from where Ike the hurricane is going to hit in the next 12-16hrs.  So, I won’t have power I’m sure or internet access for that matter.

Really sorry about the hassle,

John

Den Ivanov’s PV3D garden

May 14, 2008

The great Den Ivanov has been working lately in a couple of beautiful toys featuring 3D plants.

The first one is an experiment with portals where you change the season by entering the different doors. Drag mouse to rotate, scroll mouse wheel for zooming & walking through portals.

The second one, his Plant3D class, generates a different tree whenever you refresh the page. Some months ago Grant Skinner did another interesting experiment in this direction.

Den’s blog is a great source of inspiration where you will find some other cool examples of PV3D code.
