<p><strong><a href="http://www.flashonthebeach.com/" target="_blank">Flash on the Beach</a></strong> is coming soon this year, 20th-23rd Sept -even the weather should be awesome down in Brighton.</p>
<p>Organizer <strong><a href="http://twitter.com/FOTB" target="_blank">John Davey</a></strong> is working hard to make this event even better than previous editions, and looking at the speaker line-up it won&#8217;t be easy to decide who to see next.</p>
<p>Our project will be represented by <strong><a href="http://www.flashonthebeach.com/sessions/index.php?pageid=2188" target="_blank">Ralph Hauwert</a></strong>,  <strong><a href="http://www.flashonthebeach.com/sessions/index.php?pageid=2110" target="_blank">Seb Lee-Delisle</a></strong> and myself, <strong><a href="http://www.flashonthebeach.com/sessions/index.php?pageid=2135" target="_blank">Carlos Ulloa</a></strong>. We&#8217;ll be discussing our latest work and explaining the different techniques used in the process. It&#8217;s also always a great opportunity to meet the members of our community and relax at the evening parties.</p>
<p>Please note that with attendees coming from all over Europe, tickets will sold out as usual.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.ribbit.com/">Ribbit</a> recently held a <a href="http://developer.ribbit.com/blog/ribbit-announces-killer-app-challenge-winners/">killer app contest</a> to see who could put together the best app using Ribbit&#8217;s integrated web communication technology. It just so happens that the winner of the contest also used a little 3d library known as Papervision3D <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> Congratulations <a href="http://www.villmer.com/">Lucid Viewer</a>:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.villmer.com/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3443/3401802848_20135bff33.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>We also just held a Papervision3D Augmented Reality Contest on the <a href="http://forum.papervision3d.org">Forums</a> for a copy of FDT (thanks <a href="http://fdt.powerflasher.com/">FDT</a>!). The winning entry by <a href="http://jamesalliban.wordpress.com/">James Alliban</a> is quite amazing. Check it out (and don&#8217;t forget to stop by the <a href="http://forum.papervision3d.org/">forums</a> for all your Papervision3D questions):</p>
<p><span style='text-align:center; display: block;'>

</span></p>
<p>Lastly, I recently received an e-mail from <a href="http://www.plainstudio.com/">Javier Otero</a> telling me he took what he learned from one of our Papervision3D trainings and used it to build out <a href="http://www.craftsman.com">craftsman.com</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.craftsman.com"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-857" title="craftsman" src="http://papervision3d.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/craftsman.jpg?w=450&#038;h=255" alt="craftsman" width="450" height="255" /></a></p>
<p>Amazing work Javier! Just imagine what YOU could do if you came to a Papervision3D training <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>The design and implementation of this application is nothing short of mind blowing, supporting most features of PV3D with a professional and well laid out interface. To get you started quickly it includes a comprehensive Help panel and an excellent PDF manual.</p>

<p>The London Flash Platform User Group affectively known as <strong><a href="http://www.lfpug.com/">LFPUG</a> </strong> will host a PV3D evening on <strong><a href="http://www.lfpug.com/30th-april-2009-30042009/">April 30th 2009</a></strong> with two sessions.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Papervision3D, Simplified &#8211; <a href="http://www.lfpug.com/seb-lee-delisle/">Seb Lee-Delisle</a></strong><br />
Finally! Realtime 3D in Flash is taking off and there has never been more demand for 3D games, apps and websites. And naturally, with such a powerful library comes somewhat of a steep learning curve. This session will cover how to create 3D objects in code, import them from other 3D apps and even make a simple game.</li>
<li><strong>We Make. You Enjoy &#8211; <a href="http://www.lfpug.com/carlos-ulloa/">Carlos Ulloa</a></strong><br />
Dive deep into the third dimension with the creator of Papervision3D and discover the secrets behind his latest interactive 3D experience, <strong><a href="http://www.helloenjoy.com/">HelloEnjoy.com</a></strong>. This session will focus on the techniques, workflow and planning necessary to overcome the creative and technical challenges of real time 3D in Flash, giving an inside view of the entire creation process, from concept and planning, to development and art production.</li>
</ul>
<p>Hope you can make it, enjoy the sessions and have a drink with the London Flash community. More info and registration <strong><a href="http://www.lfpug.com/30th-april-2009-30042009/">here</a></strong>.</p>
