Flash on the Beach is coming soon this year, 20th-23rd Sept -even the weather should be awesome down in Brighton.

Organizer John Davey is working hard to make this event even better than previous editions, and looking at the speaker line-up it won’t be easy to decide who to see next.

Our project will be represented by Ralph Hauwert,  Seb Lee-Delisle and myself, Carlos Ulloa. We’ll be discussing our latest work and explaining the different techniques used in the process. It’s also always a great opportunity to meet the members of our community and relax at the evening parties.

Excellent interactive infographics from The New York Times that allows you to examine the 15th hole of the US Open Golf Tournament in glorious 3D.

Impressive high detail was achieved with a high-mesh laser scan of the 15th green that was used to build a detailed texture map and a simplified model for import into Papervision.

Ribbit recently held a killer app contest to see who could put together the best app using Ribbit’s integrated web communication technology. It just so happens that the winner of the contest also used a little 3d library known as Papervision3D Congratulations Lucid Viewer:

CaT conference is around the corner, held on June 3 in New York it will gather creativity professionals and tech-side development companies for a discussion of furthering creativity through technology.

VizualPV3D is a free Flash application that provides a GUI interface to create and manipulate objects in 3D scenes using Papervision3D.

A Juxt Interactive project, designed and developed by Gary Stasiuk, VizualPV3D provides a visual interface to Papervision3D that not only helps people see exactly what they are getting, but also enables designers and non-developers to create their own scenes.

The design and implementation of this application is nothing short of mind blowing, supporting most features of PV3D with a professional and well laid out interface. To get you started quickly it includes a comprehensive Help panel and an excellent PDF manual.

The London Flash Platform User Group affectively known as LFPUG will host a PV3D evening on April 30th 2009 with two sessions.
